3D Option Not Available In Gran Turismo 5?

Gran Turismo 5 is still the defacto 3D experience for gamers. If you are looking for something to show off to your friends then you can’t go far wrong by offering them a look at GT5. However, this is all dependent on you being able to activate 3D mode and it seems that a lot of people have had a problem doing just that. Here is the solution.

Don’t Have The Option For 3D Gameplay In Gran Turismo 5?

The problem isn’t with the game, it’s actually with the PS3 console. You see if you’ve had your console hooked up to a standard 2D television before you bought your fancy new 3D TV you’ll have likely never updated your display settings? Why would you!

The PS3 doesn’t automatically detect that you’ve connected it to a 3D TV and it needs to know this in order to enable the 3D output. So in nice plain English here is the step by step.

First of all start your PS3 console and scroll left to the “settings” menu. Now drop down 12 options until you come to the “display settings” menu and press X. The first option on the menu that pops out is the “Video Output Settings” press X on this and it will start the video output wizard.

Select the best adapter for your TV (usually HDMI and is required for 3D) and continue. You’ll be asked to confirm.

Once you have confirmed this the PS3 will then detect the fact you have a 3D TV attached and will give you the option of specifiying your 3D TV size for optimal performance.

You will then be shown a summary of your new settings and the option to change audio output, there is no need to do this for 3D. Now that you have amended the PS3′s video out put settings you’ll find that you have the option in Gran Turismo 5 to set the game to 3D. Happy gaming!

i think Samsung 3d tv used sg or sd glass?? it’s using with bettery…
it might be heavy… oh no~~ which 3d glasses are lighter? LG or Sony?

LG, Sony and Samsung all use active 3D – that means glasses with batteries. In terms of weight there’s not much in it but none of them are what you would class as heavy. The best 3D still comes from the LG Plasma.

LG also do a passive 3D TV but the 3D effect doesn’t work so great for PS3 gaming/Blurays in my opinion.

Just tried this out and it has worked. Thank you for the help :) I have a new LG 42 cinema 3D tv. It is awesome and is amazing at converting 2D into 3D

the best 3D TV is actually the panasonic.. Samsung , LG and Sony are not as good

No its not, the Panasonics are great TVs but the active 3D effect from them falls quite a way behind the latest LG passive tvs. If you are looking for the best TV that happens to have 3D available then you can’t really beat one of the very expensive, top of the range Samsungs, but again, the 3d on them isn’t as good as the passive LG.
