The wife always struggles to ge me something for Chrstmas and this year was no different. I first suggested Modern Warfare 3 but after seeing plenty of rubbish reviews we settled on Gears of War 3 instead. The Gears of War story is one I’ve played since getting the special edition of the first GoW on release day! What I didn’t know though was that Gear of War 3 has a 3D mode, not only that but it really does work.

“You know the Xbox 360, it just hasn’t got the power to do 3D gaming!” – says the Sony fanboy who sees it as yet another weapon in his fight against anything X-Box. Me? I prefer to try things for myself, that’s the whole point of this website, you’ll not find many press releases or opinions passed as facts, I like to try stuff and then write about it. And it’s from this experience that I can say for sure that the Xbox 360 handles 3D gaming just as well as the PS3 (I own both).

There has been some bad news this week for the 3D gaming industry. Nintendo have announced a price cut for the 3DS Console and EA boss John Riccitiello has said there’s little demand for 3D gaming.

This is brilliant news for anybody with a PS3 and a 3D TV. Sony have made Wipeout HD one of the 5 games that people can choose from as part of their welcome back package. Once patched this gives you an (excellent) full 3D game for free.

Gran Turismo 5 is still the defacto 3D experience for gamers. If you are looking for something to show off to your friends then you can’t go far wrong by offering them a look at GT5. However, this is all dependent on you being able to activate 3D mode and it seems that a lot of people have had a problem doing just that. Here is the solution.
