There has been some bad news this week for the 3D gaming industry. Nintendo have announced a price cut for the 3DS Console and EA boss John Riccitiello has said there’s little demand for 3D gaming.

Wimbledon is still the most watched tennis tournament anywhere in the world. Tennis is one of those sports that really works well in 3D. No surprise then that this years Wimbledon singles finals will be broadcast in 3D? Maybe not but the BBC still need to be congratulated.

The chances are that you have never heard of Dimenco? The story goes that they are a splinter group of ex Philips employees and they want to make glasses free 3D a realistic prospect. As a side note it’s worth pointing out that Philips were very early fans of glasses free technology, I remember reading about Philips when Samsung, LG and Panasonic were raving about using glasses. The short version is that even though you may not have heard of Dimenco you soon will…because they’ve created a 52″ LCD glasses free 3D TV. Not only have they created it but unlike any number of prototypes you can actually buy this set.
