Best 3D Scenes In Avatar (Home Version)

Avatar if nothing else will be long remembered as the film that has brought 3D to the masses once again. Will this version of 3D be the one that sticks, who knows? What is for sure though is that in order to stand a chance the home 3D experience has to be on a par with what you can see in the cinema. Samsung 3D TVs Hit The Market

This week brings some great news for the home consumer interested in 3D TV. Samsung have stepped up to the plate and released a first line of 3D compatible TV sets on to the market. The first 3 models to go on general release are the Samsung C7000, C8000 and C9000. You might want to sit down for this bit though, the cheapest you’ll be able to get your hands on one of these for is $2000, for the top of the range you can look forward to splashing out $7000. It sounds a lot but actually compared to how much the first generation Plasma sets sold for this is quite reasonable. The C7000 is available to buy now, the C8000 and C9000 series are to out in April. For those of us that live in normal sized houses the smallest model available will be 40 inches whilst for those with setups more along the lines of a home cinema these new 3D sets will go all the way up to 65 inches.

As well as having a custom 3D chip which boasts compatibility with the existing 3D technology standards the new Samsung’s also boast 2D to 3D conversion and multimedia capability. I’d still be dubious of any technology that claims to alter 2D to 3D but then again there are some great solutions for standard definition to high definition up scaling out there to not discount it completely. The question is, will Samsung’s early play at the 3D market give them an advantage over their competitors with both Panasonic and Sony set to release alternative 3D Television options later this year? Only time will tell.
